As a history enthusiast and frequent traveler, I recently had the pleasure of staying at Ledges By the Bay in Rockport, an inn steeped in charm and overlooking the picturesque bay. the hillside location provided the perfect vantage point to witness the graceful tall masted schooners and lobster boats dotting the horizon. the private deck was indeed a tranquil spot to savor the vibrant sunsets over the ocean. Our room, a cozy oceanview retreat, exuded contemporary elegance, with amenities like a mini-fridge, air conditioning. the inn's proximity to top-rated restaurants and unique shops made exploring the Mid Coast a breeze. the seasonal outdoor pool was a refreshing treat, complemented by the breathtaking sea views. the continental breakfast spread, though carb-heavy, provided a sufficient start to our days of adventure. Although I had hoped for rooms with balconies overlooking the water, our stay was nonetheless comfortable and enjoyable. the only downside was the discrepancy between the promised views and the reality of solid walls and minimal windows. Despite this, the cleanliness and tranquility of the property left a positive impression. In conclusion, Ledges By the Bay is a delightful retreat for those seeking a blend of relaxation and exploration in a historical setting. Whether lounging on the motel's lawn or diving into the Atlantic, this charming inn offers a memorable coastal experience. My fiancée and I left with fond memories and a desire to return to this gem on the Maine coast.
